The ‘little master’, as he is fondly referred to by fans, turns 45 today and almost the whole country is celebrating this occasion in their own ways.Īs much as India loved seeing Sachin on the pitch of ODIs and T20s, a few days ago, his fans were treated by a rare sight, of Sachin playing gully cricket and they fell in love with their idol all over again, if that is even possible. Even though he retired in 2013 from all forms of cricket, across generations he is still considered ‘the God of cricket’. Born on 24th April 1973, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is a former international cricketer and has been a captain of the Indian national cricket team as well. And there is hardly a cricket loving Indian who does not revere Sachin Tendulkar. If there is a truer stereotype associated with Indians more than their love for curry and Bollywood, it has to be their love for cricket.
